First Presbyterian Church hosts many social events throughout the year including potluck suppers with various themes; picnics; coffee hours; musical events; Hanging of the Greens; and more. These activities are posted on the church calendar and are open to members, friends and guests.
Christian Education is an important value for Presbyterians. Sunday school is offered to children and youth; Confirmation Class and Monthly Youth Activities are ongoing; Adult Book Discussions, New Member Classes, Biblical Studies, Theological Forums and special educational opportunities take place year-round.
First Presbyterian Church often sponsors a co-ed softball team in the summer. They have had a winning record the last two summers and made it into the playoffs in 2009. Members of the congregation enjoy attending the games on Sunday evenings to cheer on the team and socialize.
Worship at First Presbyterian Church is a time when people ENJOY praising God, seeing friends, singing in the choir, laughing during the sermons, praying together for friends and strangers alike. The congregation of 150 members and several friends is the right size, so that people get to know each other personally. Coffee Hour after worship is a great opportunity to meet others and catch up with those you know.
